I want this, is it practical for a college student who doesn't want to take on the expenses of rent and a car?I want this, is it practical for a college student who doesn't want to take on the expenses of rent and a car? ... at the same time. I already know that the motor scooter will be a lot cheaper in gas, insurance and the actual cost for a new vehicle. I would also get the trunk for books and groceries. I am also a much better driver on a motorbike than I am in an actual car. http://powersports.honda.com/2010/elite.aspx Scooters are becoming popular with the college students in my town where weather permits riding nearly every day of the year. That's something you should take into account as well as the amount of books and materials for your studies you need to carry. The Elite is a great scooter with a proven history. that scooter is over 50cc so you would have to have a motorcycle license and insurance for it to be legal. other then that if you live where you could ride it most of the year I would say, yes, get it. I can see it, that scoot's blood and yours are ONE! I don't know why people would buy a 125 scooter for $3500 when you can get a good used 500 or 650 for $4000. Auto parts : Bug Shield Acura 1995 . Which boat has netting in the middle, kind of like a pontoon but the side are where you sit? I think it's a sailing boat, with a motor in the back (maybe?). I remember seeing one out in the ocean, and I've been wanting one since. It was black. Looks like two canoes on the side with a large area in the middle that is a net and you can see the ocean underneath. If I can get a name or a model to research more, that would much appreciated. Best Solution To A Flat Tire? Best Solution To A Flat Tire? Over the last month i have gotten 4 flat tires 2 from pickles, 2 from glass and i'm sick of it! I now have an electric bicycle and its not easy changing the back tube, so i need to know the best solution for not getting flat tires - obviously i don't intentionally run over sharp objects but the most direct route from home to work consists of riding on paths gravel and in some cases lawn. So whats the best options? I saw on google i can get 'air free' tires that never go flat but it will be hard replacing the back tire that has the motor hub on it. I've heard of thorn resistant and the goo that can be used but do they work? Or if i use go in thorn resistant tires will that be super strong. Hyundai . How to Change a 1973 Chevy Ignition SwitchOn 1973 Chevrolet models, the ignition switch, also known as the ignition lock cylinder, is located on the right side of the steering column, just behind the steering wheel. There are small metal tumblers inside the lock cylinder that line up with the grooves machined into the ignition key. If these become overly worn, the switch will not function. Removing the Steering Wheel Disconnect the ground cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the two screws on the backside of the steering wheel that secure the steering wheel shroud, and lift the shroud and horn contact assembly out of the way. On the base of the steering wheel, use a pencil or chalk to mark the alignment between the steering wheel and the steering column. You will want to reinstall the wheel in the same relative position as you removed it to maintain steering alignment. Loosen the steering wheel lock nut from the steering shaft. Position the lock nut over the ends of the threads of the steering shaft, to protect the threads. Use the three threaded holes in the steering wheel to mount a steering wheel puller. Remove the steering wheel. Removing the Turn Signal Switch Once the steering wheel is removed you must begin by removing the steering lock plate. Push down on the plate and remove the snap ring that fits around the steering shaft. Slide the canceling cam, upper bearing preload spring and thrust washer off the steering shaft. Remove the screw that secures the turn signal lever and remove the lever from the side of the column. Push in on the hazards warning light switch and twist it to remove it from the threaded shaft. Remove the three screws that secure the turn signal switch and slide up over the end of the steering shaft. You do not need to disconnect the wiring harness to access the ignition switch. Removing the Ignition Switch Insert a thin screwdriver into the steering column through the slot for the turn signal lever. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "run" position. Use the screwdriver to depress the spring latch at the lower end of the lock cylinder. Then withdraw the cylinder from the housing. The lock cylinder itself cannot be serviced. It must be replaced with a new cylinder matched to the vehicle's key if you want to be able to use the same key for all the locks on the vehicle. Installing a New Ignition Switch Insert the new ignition switch so that the key marks on the housing sleeve are aligned with the key in the ignition cylinder. Place a 0.070-inch diameter drill bit between the ignition key bezel and the ignition switch housing. Rotated the cylinder counterclockwise, while maintaining pressure on the key bezel until the drive section mates with the selector. Press inward on the lock cylinder until the snap ring engages the cylinder and secures it in the housing. Remove the drill bit and check the movement of the cylinder. Then reinstall the turn signal assembly and steering wheel, and connect the ground cable to the negative battery terminal. ResourcesChevrolet ForumCamaro ForumsFullSizeChevy.com
Hyundai . How to Replace a Ford Ignition SwitchBefore attempting to replace the ignition switch on a Ford, the air bag must be deactivated to prevent accidental discharge of the system. The ignition key tumbler and the ignition switch should never be removed at the same time or damage to the column may result. It is also important to specify to the parts retailer that the electrical aspect of the ignition switch is being replaced. Many times the parts store personnel will mistake the ignition key tumbler for the ignition switch. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Phillips screwdriver 8-millimeter wrench Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the negative cable on the battery with the 8-millimeter wrench and allow 15 minutes for the circuits to go to sleep before beginning. This will disable the SRS, or airbags. 2 Remove the lower cover on the steering column behind the steering wheel using the Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws. Press the two tabs on the side of the ignition switch and pull it straight off. 3 Disconnect the ignition switch lower harness connector. This is just below the steering column or can be seen at the opposite end of the ignition harness. 4 Install the new ignition switch by locating the switch so the tabs line up and pushing it on the tumbler. Plug in the lower portion of the electrical pigtail or harness connector. 5 Reinstall the lower portion of the steering column cover. Reconnect the negative cable on the battery. These products remove rust and sediment that flushing with plain water can't. If your cooling system has been cleaned regularly and you want to clean it yourself, buy a well-known brand and follow the instructions on the package carefully. Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn Be aware that using a cleaner on a system that has years of built-up rust and sediment can free so much of the stuff that you run the risk of clogging your radiator or thermostat, or possibly loosening the deposits that have prevented the system from leaking. If your vehicle's cooling system hasn't been cleaned for a couple of years, have the system flushed, cleaned, and refilled professionally. Keeping coolant out of the mouthsof babes and small animals Anyone who has raised kids through the crawling and toddling stages knows that they tend pick up the most revolting stuff off the ground and put it into their mouths. Because coolant looks and tastes good, a puddle of the stuff can be hazardous. That goes double for thirsty cats, dogs, and wildlife. Most coolant contains ethylene glycol, which is poisonous when swallowed. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), this chemical causes depression, followed by respiratory and cardiac failure, kidney damage, and brain damage. Although no coolant is completely nontoxic, some coolants on the market contain propylene glycol instead of ethylene glycol to reduce their toxicity. At least one (Prestone LowTox) has received the Seal of Approval from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). However, even if you use this type of coolant, be sure to follow the instructions in this section. Take these steps to protect your pets and small children from accidentally drinking coolant: 1. Make it a habit to check under your vehicle for coolant leaks. If you find a puddle of colored liquid below the under-the-hood area — and it isn't oily — it's probably coolant. Hyundai . Store used coolant safely until disposal. Pour the used coolant into a container with a screw-on cap, label the container as "coolant" or "antifreeze," and place it well out of the reach of kids and pets until you can dispose of it, following the instructions in Step 6. Don't use containers that formerly contained beverages. They are too easily mistaken, and the sweet taste of the coolant can compound the error. 6. Dispose of used coolant safely. The most environmentally safe method is to take the coolant to a recycling center that handles toxic waste or bring it to a place that specifically recycles used coolant. Some auto supply stores accept used coolant as a public service. Call the major stores in your area to see whether they do so. If not, try a service station. They can either run the coolant through their recycling machine or include it in the batch they send out for safe disposal. Hyundai . What the example of Continuous Reinforcement?
